Payment

In all cases, payment of the patient’s fees (or estimated fees if our office participates with that dental insurance company) is expected at the time of treatment. Dr. Boquel’s offices accept cash, checks and most major credit cards.

Dental Insurance that Dr. Boquel participates with

Dr. Boquel’s two offices participate with many of today’s major dental insurance companies. In preparation for each appointment, we identify the procedures that are expected to be performed and then the insurance company estimates and tells us what its payment will be as well what the patient’s payment will be. The rules and exclusions for each insurance company (and each plan within each insurance company) are complicated and therefore we rely only on information that we receive from your insurance company. In advance of each patient’s appointment, our office will provide each patient with the estimate given to us by their insurance company. The final decision on the insurance company’s payment, if any, is made solely by the patient’s insurance company at the time that it receives the insurance claim.

Dental Insurance that Dr. Boquel does not participate with:

Even for those dental insurance companies with which the office does not participate, we will create, print, process, send and service those claims on behalf of the patient. This means that you avoid the difficult and frustrating task of navigating the insurance company’s requirements. You will pay Dr. Boquel’s fees at the time of treatment and then receive reimbursement from your insurance company according to your plan’s terms and conditions.

Written estimates from insurance companies

Dr. Boquel’s offices are happy to prepare and process, in advance of a patient’s treatment, a request for pre-determination. A pre-determination will obtain from the insurance company a reliable written estimate of the patient’s financial responsibilities. In most cases, the insurance company will deliver the pre-determination to the patient and to our office. Processing time for these pre-determinations can take 4 – 6 weeks or longer so it is important to build that additional time into your dental treatment plans. For extensive periodontal work, it is highly recommended to obtain an insurance pre-determination.
